[About Me]


  • I live in a small town in Northern Louisiana that revolves around the high school football team.
  • I do NOT like football.
  • I do like to run!
  • And no, there are no alligators living in my backyard.
  • I am a first grade teacher, and have been teaching since January 2009.  You could say it is my calling. My little students definitely have my heart.
  • I  married my best friend, my soul mate, my prince charming, Donnie, on December 19, 2009. <3 I cannot imagine life without him.
  • The hubby does like football.
  • He DOES NOT care to much about running. But he supports me every step of the way. ;) 
  • Watching movies, cooking together, and going on outings are more of our "couple thing." ;)
  • We currently do not have any children, but do want some... one day :)
  • We have 3 cats... Morgan, Yoda, and Toulouse (named after the orange cat in The Aristocats!)
  • That reminds me, I love Disney.
  • I love all things Chinese, especially sushi.
  • I love the beach, the ocean, the sun, the sand, and a good book to read.
  • I am domestic - cooking, decorating, making our house a home.
  • I love to shop!!!!! Shoes, jewelry, and now clothes because I can finally fit the styles I love!
  • I cannot live without music.
  • I have a girl crush on Katy Perry ;)
  • Another woman that I love is Hungry Girl.  Would not have been where I am today without her recipes, tips, and tricks.
  • I'm not much of a TV person, but I do enjoy The Biggest Loser, Pretty Little Liars, American Idol, Big Brother, True Blood, The Doctors, and am a little bit of a news junkie.
  • I have been overweight since I was in 6th grade.
  • I reached obesity in 2009 and was 65 pounds overweight. I was 225 lbs at my heaviest.
  • I was NEVER involved in any sports. (Except for this one time when my friend somehow convinced me to be on the church's softball league one summer.....  I was the catcher....)
  •  I was in marching band in high school and  2 years of college. 
  • Marching band was my sport.
  • I started my journey to a healthy new lifestyle on July 22, 2010.  My life has not been the same ever since.
  • I was the zumba queen.
  • I have reached my goal weight and am a normal, healthy weight!  I reached my goal weight on Febrary 13, 2011 of 160 lbs.
  • I started training for a 5K in November of 2010.
  • I competed in my first 5K on February 5, 2011 and won first place in my age group.
  • I became addicted.
  • I am now a runner.



LIFETIME GOALS 
  • Keep up with a strengthening plan, along with my running plan.  I HATE doing weights!!!!!
  • Tone and tighten my arms, stomach, and thighs.
  • Drink more H2O!!!
  • Maintain my weight loss for LIFE.
  • Eat better, as in getting the right amount of vitamins, fuel, etc. from my food.
  • Run a 10K. DONE 4-16-11!
  • Train and run a Half-Marathon. DONE 10-9-11!
  • Train and run a Marathon by age 30.
